David Osborn is a decorative painter living in Denver, Colorado, with a fondness for
classical forms and ideas of beauty, drawing inspiration from the paintings of
Caravaggio, Friant, Parrish, and the Pre-Raphaelites. Osborn engages methods of
traditional artistry; fulfilling an internal desire to compose a visual narrative and legacy
immersed in historical conventions to an increasingly distracted, digital culture.
As a Grumbacher Artist Instructor, David enjoys teaching beginning and
intermediate acrylic painting and witnessing the spark of creativity in the young and old.
He is also a selected participant in the Denver Chalk Art festival, celebrating screever
(street painting) traditions that originated in 16th century renaissance Italy.
David is the owner of Le Faux Visage, a decorative painting studio that replicates
textured surfaces and materials like marble and wood in addition to murals and trompe
l’oeil, heavily influenced by the neoclassical revival of the 19th century and the Art
Deco style of the 1920’s. David’s work can be seen in public and private collections
across the country, including Washington DC, Northern Virginia, New Jersey, and
locally throughout Colorado and the Front Range.
